Anyone Ever run an auxiliary water pump?
K so Ive seen aftermarket performance auxiliary water pumps and have always wondered bout em. Are they worth it on a D? Has anyone tried running one and is/was it worth it. I was thinking bout using something like a this....I can get em for $5.
You could cut off all the fins on the stocker, run that pump on the bottom rad hose, and probably make it work. I'd be willing to try it if you don't... Theoretically, it would free up some power that was lost to the stock water pump, but it would be very minimal. Most on this site would say that you could just turn the boost up and make more power. They're right.

i'd be worried about ------- up balancing or the reliability of the waterpump if you were to hack off fins. Not to mention if it ever failed, your motor is toast, so that's one thing i wouldn't HMT. But there are kits out there with block off plates and idler pulleys. Saw a dyno, an NA gsr made like 7 HP throughout most of the powerband.
