I thought that the GSR/ITR/CTR pump were better, thats what I read on the web anyway, I run a ITR pump only thing I noticed is the shape of it is different from the b16, had to use a different belt cover.

sounds like hoopla to me. b16a is just a high reving motor has any dohc vtec motor

all 96+ B oil pumps are the same i think some of the OBD1 pumps are a bit different.. i am putting an ls/v together and will be using a 96 gsr oil pump,water pump and timing belt

I think most people use vtec pumps for a peice of mind, because vtec motors revs higher than none vtec, plus to use a vtec timing belt with a ls/vtec setup you need a vtec water pump, reason it have a bigger gear.
