Default AC Low Pressure Line 97 Civic Broken

The story goes, that when i had my turbo setup on my car, it was Ac compatible with a external Wastegate. The wastegate blew the low pressure line of my AC, I got the replacement the part. Is there anything special is should know about this install. I plan on taking it to an automechanic because i have no idea about AC units. My buddy who went to UTI, he said that I need to take it to an dealership because they will install the line, and have to put it though a vacuum process to get all the air out. So I don't know what to do? I need this fixed before the Summer begins. Any Ideas what i should do

Well if you line is already broken, it should be discharged. Just swap it out for the new one and take it to the cheapest place you can find to recharge it

Werd. I used to do residential/commercial ac work (it's the same for houses as in cars except smaller systems)...the part about putting it under vaccum is true, but only after all the lines are connected. After all the lines are on, it's usually pressurized with gas to make sure nothing leaks, then refridgerant is slowly introduced into the system and brought into a state of vacuum. The vacuum helps circulate the ref. through the system, and then once again is brought to a positive pressure state.
