Ok guys i need to do an engine/tranny swap in my 95 accord lx... it goes through oil like nobodys business and the tranny is on its way out for sure... Ok heres my question, will any 90-97 accord 5 speed tranny work and what are (if any) gear ratio differences? I might have a friend who will give me a 90 accord lx 5 speed tranny for close to nothing so idk.

 

yeah im pretty sure their all the same. same gear ratio's also i believe. if u want shorter gears use a tranny from an h22. but those are a grip haha.

 

I know that at the very least the 94+ EX coupes (maybe all coupes) have a little tighter gear ratios than the sedans. Otherwise they're all essentially the same. I put a H23 transmission in my old 91 LX and it really woke it up.. if you can get your hands on one, do so.

 

ok so any H22/23 and F series engine (except F20) fits? Hey i could have fun with this...

 

the f20 should fit. well the jdm ones that come with the motor. cause the f20 is a direct replacement for the f22. i believe the h22 tranny is the shortest and the h23 and accord ex are the same. which is real long. had an ex tranny on my cuzzins built h22 turbo and it was in boost forever.
