use nothing but honda MTF, it is the best, synchro mesh fucked up my good tranny, honda synchros are so soft anyway though, they need some cyro treating. but yea use honda mtf, and if youre doin it on a hydro tranny, i always filled it from the speed sensor, easy to get at, and one or two 10 mm bolts

yea but then you would have to pay attention to the amount youre putting in since the fill level is lower than the vss. just get a 5 dollar hand pump meant for doing the job and it will be easy as hell. Ive used honda mtf, i didnt notice a difference from regular oil really and that ---- costs like 7 bucks a quart
