Default 1996 civic 0bd1 help SEARCH is not working again

I have been limiting my self to a 92 95 civic because of leagal bull ---- but i keep seeing 96 civics with blown motors for 600 and im geting pissed. i have a 98 obd 2 b18b wich i converted to obd1. i have a obd1 ls harness. to put that in to a obd2 car will the harness i have plug in at the fire wall. i will need a obd2 to 1 for the ecu.

what do i have to do to pass emisions since it is not on the tread mill but they plug in to the ecu or what not.

do i just need to run the stoch ecu for a day with the wastegate open so the ecu reads the car as good.

im just tired of limiting myself to the 92- 95 when newer seemes to be cheaper

thanks

no it wont, but the stock harness from the car you get will mostly plug into the motor, and you may have to change a few plugs, but you have the obd 1 harness to pull plugs from!

what do i have to do to pass emisions since it is not on the tread mill but they plug in to the ecu or what not.

you just run an 0bd2 to obd1 jumper harness with an obd 1 ecu, and when they plug into the obd2 port to scan the ecu for codes during the test, the scan tool wont be able to communicate and thats that, it wont fail if the scan tool cant communicate with the car.

do i just need to run the stoch ecu for a day with the wastegate open so the ecu reads the car as good.

as long as you have the required equipment installed cat, 02 sensor etc., and if the ecu is tuned properly, it should pass emmissions just fine, but you could always open the wastegate, and run a stock map, but you would have to re install the stock injectors as well, so just get it tuned right!

hahah ----. so since i converted to obd1 if i get a obd2 car i will need the obd2 distributor and alternator.

i know this is noobish but i am not finding ---- from google but i am still looking.

i am going to get it tunned right. should i run open loop or closed. i forget wich is wich. i was planing on not useing o2 sensors just have it run off the ecu. that wouldnt be a prob sence they cant comunicate with the car they just have to be there. wont have to be working right.

thanks
