***UPDATE*** Overheating... Serious Delima....
so i've been battling the overheating issue for about 3 months now. under moderate boost(2-8psi), the temp gauge is fine, but when i run it hard and make use of my boost controller (15psi max) the gauge shoots up to hot, after about 2-3 miles it dies back down to 1/3. not to mention, the overflow bubbles (coolent actually shot out of the bottle once after i raped her good
)
origionally i thought it was the heat the turbo was generating, so i made a heat shield in front and back of the turbo... no help. i replaced the radiator cap, no luck there.
so tonight i took her out before it snows for the next few days and beat on her a lil' bit. and this time i smelled coolant on the way home, and said to myself "time to do a compression check"
now i made sure i hit 15psi and made the gauge climb before i pulled into the drive (i wanted to load it up)
i let it idle out in the driveway for 2 minutes, blipped the throttle, ran to the back of the crx and could smell antifreeze. shut her down
now 5 minutes passed then i pulled out #1 plug and it was wet i tasted it, burnt my tounge, but i tasted antifreeze.
"yea not good!!!"
hooked the compression tester up to #1 = 173psi, #2 = 175, #3 = 174, #4 = 176. so now i'm like " WHAT THE ----!"
hooked up the radiator pressure tester up and gave it 17psi and let it sit for 5 minutes , never budged.
so, now i'm out of ideas.
i'm kinda leaning twards the idea of: under high boost the head is actually seperating from the block a little, sound fesiable?
i refuse to turn down my boost (that's just not an option)
so please help and let's keep this on topic
,
heres my setup..... https://www.homemadeturbo.com/forum/...threadid=24733
also, i do have arp headstuds installed, you can see them in the pics (i think)
thanks brothas!

water pump maybe?
ive had a similar random overheating problem, im starting to think its the water pump.
after i drive my car when i park, i lose a little bit a coolant, the coolant is coming from the timing belt area, it could be my resevoir tank so i have moved it to a diffrent spot, if it continues i guess thats my next guess.
its weird, there is oil on my block, but its not coming from the head, it actually looks like its coming from the peice of the head gasket that is exposed by the tranny, i was thinking that the head was lifting off the block, i have heard people mention that, but at the same time im only running 5psi i seriously doubt thats enough boost to cause the head to lift off the block , either way i guess a rebuild is in my future.

there are a few ideas floating around the dreaded H-T that it is actually the head lifting or the sleeves themselves twisting under the pressure. back off the timing a touch and see what happens.
Checked the thermostat yet? I had the same problem before when in idle. I would run the ---- out of the car then when I stopped at a light the temp would just roll up like crazy. The thermostat wasnt really bad just the plastic tab on the top was split and not totally sealing. When I replaced the thermo I didnt have a problem after that with overheating.
who gives a ----, it can blow as well and unseal, the overflow is bubling because pressure from the turbo is escaping into the water jacket, so you have these options
blown headgasket
lifintg head under boost
head not tightened down enough
or YOURE RUNNING TOO MUCH TIMING, im going to go with, blown headgasket due to too much timing.
and im not some stupid noob, dont think i dont know ----, just because its a mrgasket suck my dick headgasket, doesnt mean it cant blow.
