130 HP stock for a ZC, + 10 psi turbo intercooled(10x15=150) =270 HP, I was under the impression that factory rods where only good to 200 hp???

Re:You will all eat my carbon monoxide!

stock zc on 10 psi might be 200 hp

Hrm, generally its not the horsepower itself that you can determine when a piston or rod is no good - as long as the explosion is happening smooth enough there should be no problem using extremely brittle parts. The difference really comes from the way they design aftermarket ones, to handle the power differences :)

But your estimations are probly incorect because many people are running 10 psi on a stock internals ZC, by your estimations, this would be 270 HP, this is probly impossible because as a general rule of thumb, D series Rods can't take any more then 200 HP before they break.

Beerbongkicksass seems to be running 220 horsepower on D series rods.

ummmmmmm...... d series rods will hold more than 200 hp. fine. there are a countless number of set ups with stock rods that are running over 200 hp. and there have been some over 250 hp.

As I was saying, there is no "horsepower" limit to what a rod or internals can suffer... as long as the engine is tuned properly. I mean yes there will eventually be a point where it can't take anymore boost because of the size of the cylinder (but we're talking about turbos that are to large for this car period).

The aftermarket rods/pistons are designed to have more "flex" in them, so that they don't break the second that there is a sense of detonation (where as factory rods and pistons will not be as strong and not ready to "flex"). Don't let someone tell you that the D-series motor can only handle "200" horsepower because thats bullshit, easily right now with 11 psi I was hauling around 220sh wheel horsepower.
