yes i totally agree that your brother is good, but he has a different style than the other dude. its like comparing apples to oranges. theyre both really good but essentially, totally different

The thing IMO, that makes a great player is not their technical cleanliness or anything. I can't stand mamlstein, he can shred, but it lacks an talent in writing or emotion.

The kid can definately play though.

if you like technically tight music then listen to sleep terror http://www.myspace.com/sleepterror

that sleepterror guy is pretty good.. would like to hear him play that without the drums

malmsteen has an attitude i dont care for.. he's definately a good shredder.. watched one of his videos once.. he was about to explain some chop he was going to do.. then said something to the effect that it was too technical for the viewers LOL
i was like whatever..

no way man. This kid is good, DAMN good. But Satriani is a god, and on a whole nother level than this kid. If that guy keeps playing, every day, for the next twenty years, he may someday come close to Satriani quality.

yeah i know.. but the drums make it hard to hear everything the guitar is doing..

there are some REALLY good guitarists out there who are unknown by most people.. i know of a guy in Astoria, Oregon who's way better than the kid up top this thread.. i played with him a couple times.. i was actually there working on his house... LOL saw his guitars and we started talking.. then that led to some cool guitar sessions.. he's married, got like 3 kids and just not into the whole band scene.. a shame.. i'm sure there are alot of other guitarists like that..
