The current status of the car is that we ------- hope the DSS axles get here today/tomorrow, we hope the JK traction bars Goforth ordered last minute get here today/tomorrow, and we hope we can make a few passes in your hometown THursday night before heading directly to the Rock.

But, it doesn't matter much to me. We're already bringing more of a car to Pinks than either of the Full-Race attempts.

Well the travel of a beam axle is generally a 1:1 ratio because the strut/spring assembly is mounted directly to the hub. On the CRX the double wishbone setup affects the travel of the wheel in relation to the compression of the spring, somewhere around 4:1, so for every four inches of wheel travel you have one inch of compression. Translate into a coiled spring and a 900lb spring is going to act something like a 300lb progressive spring, where as the beam axle would act just like a 900lb spring.

That doesn't address NHRA tracks requiring minimum 1/2" wheel travel when they lean on the car. It has that, and doubtful any more. If the spring rate was effectively increased the car would be illegal.

I know a lot of guys with illegal cars, they just let most of the air out in the rear tires when going through tech. It's a lot scarier than what this car is now.
