Saw a Ford today with euro plates, really wide white plates with black letters, started with an X, if that means anything on euro plates.

Ford Fiesta. Funning looking little car. Reminded me of the MINI Cooper, I expected to see a gaggle of clowns get out of it. Much to my dismay, there were no clowns.

that'll be english plates, white on the front yellow on the back.. the X stands for the year of manufacture

x will be 2001

my first car was G515 XMO

G for aug 89 to aug 90

515 is car number 515 registered on G... XMO

XMO is for the area of the country..

my next car was F387 LCN

a 1988 renault 5 turbo registered in gateshead

next was G585 PTY

a 1989 vauxhall nova registered in morpeth

next was F375 LAM

a 1988 vauxhall cavalier sri , dont know where it was registered (not sure where LAM is)

then my current car K787 PCN

a 1992 vaxhall nova registered in newcastle

as of "Y" plate the system changed..

the new system is 2 letters denoting the area of the country .. i.e NA (newcastle)

then 2 numbers denoting the 6 months in which it was first registered i.e 02 is the first 6 months of 2002 and 52 is the second 6 months

then 3 random letters
