Re:Why mustangs?

If we want to stereotype by what you think then here is one for ya. All import drivers are white boys that want to be black.
Do people really think that?

Mustangs are fast yes if you do mods they can be even faster. But Im not that impress anymore by the power they make after the s2000 came out with their engine. Its a 4 banger and its bhp is 240. That impress the hell out of me. I me some v6 cant make that much power. Plus the nissian 350z has 280 bhp thats just as or faster than most v8. Imports to me just make domestic cars look bad cuz they think "bigger is better" which proves "quality is better than quanity" But imagine what honda will do in the future? I mean if it comes down to the competition they might get rid of the term "hondas are just 4 cyl that are slow"

have you driven an S2000, I wasn't really all that impressed. Like I said I sold Hondas for a while. They are nice but I would much rather have the Accord coupe V6 6speed. Lots more tourqe. Sorry, but the S2k feels like a dog until 6000 rpm. Powershifting at 9k was nice but how often are you really gonna get to do that.

I was using that stereotype as an example, some people do think that. Like I said I am not one but there are plenty out there that give import drivers a bad name.

The point i was saying was that its a 4 cyl that makes 240 bhp. Its whp is around 210 and its a n/a 4 banger. Most v6 arent that fast. Have you driven a 350z? I have and that fucker is fast. Its only a v6 with 287 bhp and 274 pounds of torque. Impressive. Like I said imports make domestics look bad by quality wise

Re:Why mustangs?

that's 120 hp per liter, if you applied that to a 4.6 mustang, that would be 552 hp from a stock mustang :o, but torque is a whole nother ball game :P

Go buy a new GT and add a procharger ( sweet ass S/Cs !! ) and a few other bolt-ons, then let the broken tranny pile began...

92' LX couple, heads, cam, intake, 150shot, T-56 camaro tranny, and slicks would run 11's and last a long time is tuned properly.

And one more thing. One of the guys that I really looked up to when I first started street racing when I was 15 ( 7 years ago ) had a mullet, a 87' GT, 347 stroker motor, 150shot, and it ran 10's in full street form.... I say the mullet did something !!! That bitch was bad !!! The 600-750cc street bikes wouldn't race him !!

Re:Why mustangs?

Wow interesting thread. All I can say is.

I own a 5.0 and a honda.
And I am converting the mustang to EFI running off MAF and not speed density. Also makes cam changes easier I dont have to worry about screwing up the range that speed density is tied to.

94 and up "MUSTANGS" Not cobra's ARE slow a minor retune of the computer fixes that. They were tuned down way down for emmisions.

Tune Ecu, change cams, multiport FI,head changes, sounds to me like everything that people do they do to all cars.

The mustang is to whip all the little smart asses that think either of my cars is slow. The honda is for the MORONS that think there muffler and 15 stickers shaved off 2 second.

Mustang is a 13 sec car with a minor cam upgrade and the Honda is a 92 hb b series with a header and CAI and runs 15 flat. So to all witha ag grain of salt. I am with random on this one.

Re:Why mustangs?

its all on preference. Both have good quality to them. its not all about the power too. Plus you cant say mustangs are better than honda.

Re:Why mustangs?

Well take any DOHC Cobra(96 and newer) and it will blow the doors off a 93 Cobra. Add a blower to those cars and in street trim they will make 500 at the rear wheels. Pump gas and all.

Procharger is the best supercharger ever in my book.

My car ran 13.0's-12.9's with 125k mile all stock motor (well mass air, and roller rockers), exhuast, lower control arms, et street. should run mid 12's with refreshed motor and new intake and tb.

Stop the fighting... why is it that everyone likes to argue over this stuff..?

It doesn't matter if it's a mustang or a tank with a rocket engine on the back, it's all about power to weight ratio.

If I can drop a H22 in a crx and turbo it to run 9's that's great, you can also drop a 429 in a mustang and supercharge it to run 9's. I show more respect for the 4 banger though... considering it's under HALF the size and FWD.
