Who running an ihi rhb5
Hello am trying to run a turbo of a 87 t-bird but cant find any o2 housings to make it work/fit. The stock one shoots it back into the block. Heres a pic of what it looks like thanks. Any ideas of what o2 housing i should use would be great.

That's the bigger than normal IHI RHB5. The bastard child, which is actually a pretty good turbo. I was running one of a Mazda MX6, it is smaller than yours, even thought it is the same model turbo.
I have never seen one of those flanges for sale, you might need to find a factory housing on a junkyard to use.

Im running one on a d16y8, but i want to upgrade. It runs outta steam up top. But that dous look like a weird one. Mine was an rhb5, but the exhasut flange was still different from other rhb5's, but looked nothin glike that one. I had to take BMC's exhaust flange and drill new holes to get it to work.

IHI RHB5 is such a loose term. its like saying i own a civic with out saying what model. is your IHI RHB5 a vj-7 vj-11, vj-14, vj20? i knwo that its not a vj-20 cause those only came in japan. you state the vechile its off of but if i rember those are larger then the IHI RHB5 platform. which one it is i dunno. but the t-bird came with a model simular to teh garret T3 size turbo.

yes the 11 and 14 run out of steam at about 5200-5500 rpms. my friend has one in his mazda 323gt he states teh sam problem. even my vj-20 on my motor is a bit of a steam loser at liek 6800 and above. but at that point im about to shift anyways. but it spools 15spi nice and hard up to that point.

hey i just picked up the same one, its an rhb52, looks similar to a tdo5. I'm going to be going to get the exhaust flange made tomorrow at laser innovations here in cali. they charge an arm and a leg but oh well.
