I think when weight training, drinking on the weekends and drinking like a fish are 2 different things. a few beers on the weekends shouldnt affect weight training i wouldnt think as hotsex, he should know this.

I agree. I don't drink during the week, but when the weekend comes I love to party. I'm just starting a workout routine, and lifting weights.
I think if you only keep it to the weekends, and your not hardcore about bodybuilding, like say you are going to be in a competition, then it really matters. But if you are lifting weights along with dieting, then I really don't see it affecting gains unless you drink all week.

the drinking kills yours gains cuz it dehirates you. If you have a beer on a tuesday night, it not going to do anything.
i try and drink alot of water when im working out hard and drinking. i usually pick one night a week to get hammered, and maybe another one to have a few beers. i sometimes will have a gallon of water with me. seemed to do the trick for the summer, i didnt feel i lost alot due to drinking.

I used to party pretty hard on the weekends and I workout for 2 hours a day 5 days a week. I wasnt really gaining much weight but have great definition. I was 6'1 about 155lbs and now I am 6'2 175lbs. Almost no body fat and now I just drink on the weekends occasionally but I stay away from hard alcohol all I drink is Stella Artois.

If you are an alcoholic and you are trying to see HUGE gains, then yes you may be slowed down a little bit.
The major thing to remember is that most people are not pro body builders, and most people don't drink like fish.
Alcohol dehidrates you and slows your metabolism, those are the two major problems with it and mass building.
You should be drinking a lot of water anyway when weight training.
This is kinda like the too much ex will kill your brain, yeah it will if you do like 8 tabs a day for months at a time.

LOL. Yea man. You seem like you workout too much. I do a 3 day split M/W/F. You have to give your muscles time to recover, and during that time that's when they grow. Feed it protein and just don't eat junk.
"2 hours a day 5 days a week" I hope your doing 1 or two body parts a day, and that other time is for cardio? Still seeems like a lot.

Eat big drink big lift big. It will be alright, i have actually maxed out many times on a hangover. Drinking won't help anything but you have to keep yourself out of that way of thinking; letting things and ideas keep you from your goals.
just my 2 cents.
