I too always used craftsman except for my torque wrenches [digital rules] and specialty tools.Craftsman ratchets I will admit aren't the best but id rather have a nice ride and tools than 15g in tools and a 85 corolla

Re: who has been to auto school
2 years at Penn Tech and got my Associates in automotive service. I liked it, I learned a huge amount and a lot of my buddies got jobs at high end dealerships and what not. I just decided I didn't want to bust my knuckles for the rest of my life so am getting another degree in computers while my parents are still paying

Re: who has been to auto school
I have a few friends who went to automotive school.
I don't know how I personally feel about them. I mean, I wanted to go at one point, but then I changed my mind.
Here's why...
I love working on cars. But, I don't like working on cars that I don't like and I don't like doing repetetive pain-in-the-*** installations. If I could work on turbo civics all day long that would be another story.
As I looked into the industry I realized that the people making the money are not the ones turning the wrenches.
So, instead of going forward with automotive school, I decided to go to business school instead where I could learn to run a business.
I would rather run a successful business and make tons of money so I can build cars in my spare time than work on dodge caravans all day long. That's just my opinion though.
