Re: Where to buy Plasmas????

there is no standard to measure conntrast ratios. It is true most plasmas have nicer colors compared to LCD's. The new samsungs (69 and 71 series) have amazing whites and blacks with their new "glossy" panels, but the colors are too intensified to the point where they look too good. With the 120Hz the background static is almost down to none, but be prepared to dish out some nice cash. The only plasma that i do like is the panasonic 700u series. Other than that, ill go LCD any time.

First time I have ever been referred to as baller ;D , I have a pioneer plasma, and after spending days watching hundreds of plasmas, lcd's, dlp's, led dlp's, projectors, ect... Pioneer plasma's are hands down the best looking tv's, followed by Samsung, and Panasonic. OLED's look very promising, but are several years away in anything bigger then cell phone sizes. At this years CES, Sony debuted a 27" but its not for sale yet as it cost more to produce then Panasonic's 150" plasma will retail at.

We have a 50" Panasonic in the basement. Top of the line model from last year. Dad got a good deal on account of him working for Northrup Grumman. Apparently, they have some sort of deal with Panasonic. Cut about $1300 from the price advertised.
