Re: whats your favorite whiskey/bourbon
Small batch is a trade name for high end ---- produced by either Beam or Jack, I forget, but it sums up the lot of low-production overly sugary and soda pop smooth high dollar crap that gets foisted on the mouth breathing general public who thinks price = quality and masturbates to HT tech writeups.
Knob Creek, Booker's, Gentleman Jack, etc, crap. Bourbons are too sweet to be subtle and have the earthy flavors that suit complex palates liquors, they need a little raw/rough finish to bring them character and distinction whereas various whiskies have radically different characters with no redundant pedestrian traits suck as "caramel" or "refined white sugar", except to the sort of flaming homo that likes to drink pink wine in public and thinks it's haute culture. Makers Mark and Jack Daniels is about as good as it gets before it starts sucking ass, folks, don't get confused by the fast talk and the expensive looking billboard. Then again, I'm a professional drunk unlike most, and I toasted the New Year with a '97 Brunello di Montalcino... at 7 pm, before I started taking shots of tequila. :-* |
Re: whats your favorite whiskey/bourbon
ya know i disagree with you knob creek and especially bookers are not sweet and as far as gentleman jack dont even put that whiskey in the same category.
and besides Makers Mark is a bourbon and is a decent one too as far as jd is concerned it is straight ass only thing jd makes that is worth a damn is the single barrel. so what do I know? I toasted the new year with Russell's Reserve. I am not a bar drinker thus I am am not a professional i sit at home enjoying what the fine state of Kentucky has porduced. |

PS - seeing as Kentucky is full of inbreeds, I say we redraw the Mason-Dixon along your Southern border. In the future, I'll buy only Tennesee whiskeys. |

It is made of a blend of different grains, with the bulk of the grain alcohol coming from corn, and grains such as malted barley, rye, or wheat making up the rest. http://www.wisegeek.com/what-is-bourbon.htm To be called Kentucky Bourbon the Whiskey must have been produced and aged in Kentucky. To be called a Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey all of the Whiskey in the bottle must have the above characteristics i.e. not blended with other Whiskey’s. http://www.heavenhill.co.nz/prod01_copy(6)11.htm Well i am originally from Tennessee and now reside in Hawaii. |
Re: whats your favorite whiskey/bourbon
I drank redbull and vodka along with Corona and don't even remember "the countdown" to 2007 so ---- off. I guess you have to be really smart to enjoy "good" alcohol. :1
