Default what do I need to get vtec to work

I heard that if you have a vafc you can get vtec to work without a vtec ecu. Is this true? I heard that you could use a rpm activated switch, but I didnt know if you could use the VAFC. Please help.

the VAFC has VTEV control.
You can set in what point of RPM VTEC engages...so I thing you can use it to activate VTEC.

hes right, it has a wire that gives the vtec selenoid 12v when you reach certain set points. if you already have the vafc it should say how to use it in the manual.

What about the other contector to the vtec solenoid. I know there is a one wire conector, and then there is a two wire conector. What do they do and how do i use them without a vtec ecu. Thanks

the one wire is the VTEC oil pressure sensor. It connects to the VTS (obd1) or VTM (OBd2a) on the ECU.
