After falling off a roof and hearing a message I left on my buddies voicemail I'm starting to chill out on the drinking.....especially while driving. I still haven't found out what I hit that weekend. I've driven myself home way too many times when I know I shouldn't be driving. I usually just toss my keys to my girlfriend because she hardly drinks. DUIs are expensive and not worth the risk anymore.

When I got a DUI they kinda fucked me because just a few months before that I had another alcohol related offense with a disorderly conduct charge. The judge frowned on that and gave me 2 days in county jail, a ---- load of community service which I paid in cash at minimum wage(---- working community service. I'm worth much more than that), substance abuse counseling, which I argued with the judge about and he wasn't too happy about that, and around $800 in fines. Just recently they raised the fines for DUIs out here and made a manditory jail term along with a manditory loss of your license for a year. It's really not worth it.

Refusing the field tests is an admission of guilt. (you agree to that when you sign for your license)

The legal numbers will be the ones from the maching down town.

it is not a felony unless there are "escalating cercumstances" things like previous DUIs, minors in vehicle, ect. Obviously that is not you. So no worries.

Poor decision, ya pay for it. Not much more to say than that.

If you're **** drunk and probably going to get an extreme DUI your best bet is to refuse the test because then they can't nail you with an extreme. Sure, you'll get the DUI, but a regular DUI isn't ---- compared to an extreme.

When I lived in AZ, the police had told us also that refusal to take a breathalyzer is admission of guilt. Also they said that when you go downtown, if you still refuse, they have the athority to draw your blood and do a blood test. So either way they will figure out your BAC.

they have to get a court order (aka talk to a judge) before they can draw blood. Then escort you to a hospital. By that time you are outside the 60-120 rule for accurate testing, therefore inadmissible.

I think that's exactly what I said in my post.

Here in VA if you refuse a breath test then they haul your *** down and take a blood test. They don't need the permission of a judge. They do need the permission of a magistrate which every police station has on duty 24 hrs a day.

nope, they just take your licence for a year, its better that way you dont get a dui on your record. Jago just be glad your not me, im on my 6th driving on suspended, 4 this year. If the cop shows to court im doing a lil jail time

Yes, it's an automatic guilty plee, but if you're going to get an extreme DUI if you blow, then you're better of getting a DUI for not blowing.

I'd have a hard time believing they can draw blood from you. I fear needles more than anything in the world. They'd have one hell of a time trying to stick me with a needle.....especially if I was drunk. :P

you dont get a DUI if you dont blow, you just loose your licenes. then you get a lawyer and try to get your ---- back.
