Default VTEC Question

I had this posted in the FOR SALE section but it was also a question so I didn't where it should go, but what's a good price range to be looking at for a VTEC head (OBD-0 or OBD-1 and GSR or 1st Gen B16A)? And also, does anybody have one for sale? I need pics (no pics, no deal). PayPal verified. PM me if any offers or friendly advice.

The reason why I ask for a price range is cause I have asked a couple of retailers, shops, etc. and got many different prices and I dunno who's right or wrong. And I figured that you guys might know since y'all been here longer than me...

i have seen a B16 head for $875 at inline four.com.

I think this is pretty steep. You can get an entire long block, minus the tranny for like $900 from most places. Then you could sell the bottom end for probably $4-500 depending on where you live. . around here, you could probably get 5-600 for just the bottom end....
but it just depends...

here is a long block assembly,--for $650--then you could sell the bottom for $400, and have a head for $250, not a bad deal.

I live in San Diego where random idiots blow up engines and get into head-on car crashes WASTE our precious motors. So chances of finding a VTEC head or complete motor are pretty slim...

you gotta find some that are cheaper than $800! Id sell you one but I dont have one at the moment...

Anyways, why are you getting a 1st gen b16A head? The B16A2 and B16A3 have better cams and flow better (from what I've read).

You can go online to almost any online motor seller, and get a b16 head for 500 bux, the longblocks are 500 bux as well. No one gives a ---- about the 16 shortblocks.
