V8 Single or twin...?

that's right, megasquirt, I had read up on that a bit......
ya i don't see myself doing a carb to turbo to intake......it'd probably be with the turbo-carb-intake method with that funny lookin aluminum "bonnet" over the carb...
but i want to get an idea of how easily/how cheap it can be done.....
(and correct me if i'm wrong, but say as a first time, i do a simple set up, even without an intercooler even, and run really low boost...it can be done a bit more simple and more easily, as opposed to something i want to run that'll give me huge hp% gains)

Piping up an intercooler is the least of your worries, get a bar and plate style intercooler off ebay for 100$ then just run charge pipes to it. With any turbo setup you need fuel and timing control. That means, for a carb setup, a reworked carb so it will handle boost and a 6 BTM so you can retard the timing when the boost comes on. Set it up right the first time so when you want to up the boost you can and you wont blow the motor. TRUST ME boost is addictive.
With megasquirt you don't need the 6 BTM or the carb (obviously) and you have complete control of your fuel and timing.

Thanks so much!!! I do appreciate your input a lot!...ok great, now what's 6 BTM stand for? okay, so say i decide to go the injected route.... say i 'd probly grab the top off a tpi camaro/firebird....and go with the megasquirt, I would need to upgrade the injectors and the throttle body aswell right? (i think i'm just scared of the electric side of things, and the potential cost)

6 BTM is a MSD timing box that retards your timing in relation to boost.
MSD 6-BTM CD Ignitions - summitracing.com
We can post on here all day, but reading the stickies will answer 90% of your questions and when you get all your parts and install them then start asking specific questions as to what problems you are having.
You will eventually need bigger injectors if you go with TPI but I would get the motor nunning N/A with megasquirt, learn the basics of tuning, then put the turbos on. You will also need a new fuel pump and pressure regulator, although the pressure regulator might be on the TPI rail, I'm not too familiar with TPI.
Just to make it clear, you need either carb built for boost and the 6BTM or If you use the megasquirt with TPI you will NOT need the 6BTM.
