But only E8 and E11v2 do dual MAP vs rpm and TPS vs rpm load mappings. Good luck doing a decent tune with anything less than that, Motec M48, or eCtune with a Honduh dist -if- Calvin ever gets around to finishing the secondary mapping code. There might be other EMS that do a good job but I'm not aware of them.

i think im going to go with the e6x and some peripheral hardware. but right now i need to get this turbo mounted. clearance is a big issue because not only is the compressor larger, it is offset more toward the engine than a straight t3. im going to try and modify the manifold a bit and get a couple flanges to space it down... i also need an oil filter relocation kit.

sadly eville and i cant use that tuning software, at least not yet.
tuning is about the tuner mostly, and the software to a lesser extent. i dunno about eville, but i got mine to a drivable, boostable safe fast tune in about an hour. it went from a bare engine/vehicle with no wiring/sensors/ecu/wideband etc to a running skidding smoking beast in less than a week. at the same time i mounted all the accessories like coils and coolers and ----, and adjusted the body work to suit.
its just not that hard. if you have an old ms unit, bring it up to date with hardware and software, and run the latest megatunix supported hi res code. you should be more than happy with that, but it'll be map only, so you may have some off idle issues etc. then again, before ms2 existed, ppl had itb cammed up na engines, and did just fine with ms1. not sure if i can do a blend though. but maybe. read the docs.
grabbing an upgrade isnt too expensive if you want the ms2e code eville and i both use happily :-) its the ----! very good stuff indeed.
calling it home brew is pretty insulting to the totally fantastic job that everyone involved has done in development of it. there are a lot of users like myself that would go to great lengths to use it over any of the other solutions regardless of price. the transparency is worth its weight in gold to me.
how much did the hx30 set you back? and how much hp are you hoping for?? must be quite a lot for a little 1.6! cant wait to see it run, whatever you decide to run with.
