Re: Tip's for FWD drifting
get a CRX SiR and you'll never want to know how to 'drift' in a FWD again

Re: Tip's for FWD drifting
Drifting is just fancy term for powersliding through a race track.

Re: Tip's for FWD drifting
i know you can never technically drift properly in a fwd so lets just call it "skidding" O0 for the record im not really into "drifting" i just happen to find a great place to do it so i decided to have some fun. If it cant be done, o'well at least i tryed asking :P this is how ive been doing it: go around 55-60, suddenly jerk the wheel all the way in one direction, let go of the throttle and swing the wheel to the oppisit direction to steer stright but i can never regain control :-X btw i dont like to use the e-brake too much because its too dangerous

Re: Tip's for FWD drifting
When I've been with my cousin when he's "drifted" in his Accord, he used the e-brake everytime, basically to get the momentum going. If he was part of the site he could explain it better, but I can verify that he does well with it O0

i dont understand how it would work in a front wheel drive car. you will simply slow down before you come out of a corner to really make it fun. mainly because if you popped the clutch and tried it, the front wheels would pull it forward. i dont know. |
Re: Tip's for FWD drifting
i saw a video once of a guy showing how to set up a fwd car for drifting...he recommended setting the rear toe as far out as possible, he said that it made the car easier to keep sideways. then he locked the button in on the ebrake so that he could use it w/o accidentally leaving it locked on. A LSD will also help. My CRX would oversteer if you went into a corner hard and then let off the gas (unloading the rear) the LSD would not unlock so it tended to pull the car around and cause a "drift". also, use some junk tires on steelies or something, so that the rear end has less traction to begin with.
just some tips to go along with the sway bar recommendations. Also, the lunch trays work VERY well, but don't last very long. >:D :'( |
