You are gona have to go in faster than you think. Then whip it away from the turn then hard back into the turn (feint, scandinavian flick whatever its called). Then hold the ebrake button and yank hard as hell immediately put the ebrake back down. The car will start to spin let the steering wheel spin through your fingures becuase there is no way you can keep up with it. Once the wheel stops (or gets far enough) grab it and start undwinding it. Keep the car floored from that point on.

The biggest mistake in FWD drifting is not unwinding (straightening) the wheel quick enough. If you dont do it quick enough and the back tires start to grip it will send t he car in a spin the opposite direction. Also keeping the car floored helps make it go in the direction the wheels are pointed this also helps on the smooth exit.


Good luck make sure you have a lot of room for when the car flicks back and goes in a non desireable direction. FWD sucks for drifting but RWD and FWD are the same when you start out. People are gonna understeer and most use ebrake as there first technique. In FWD you can also trail brake and weight transfer depending on how the car is setup.

EEEEEERRRR, Wrong.

I have been in a Jetta, N/A built for road corsing that can drift. It's all on the driver and HUGE suspension mods. With a RWD Power can make you drift, in a FWD Skill and Suspension can make you drift, no e-brake needed.

FYI, You WILL crap you pant the first time you rotate a FWD with no E-Brake. Heavy Antiroll bar in the raer helps alot to combat over steer

um... how? the whole point in drifting is weight transfer and making all the weight go to the front so that you can eaisally do that. in a front wheel drive car its not worth it cus you have to lock up the rear, but then again, once you lock it up with the e-break, it gets too hard.


imho drifting a fwd car use useless and a nice way to ---- up your breaks, differential, tires, and some body panels.

you need a 90-91 crx si lol......the oem rear disks lock that ---- up like crazy, i dont go drifting, but just playing around in a parking lot at about 10mph i can do a 180 in it, so im assuming at 30 i would be all over the place

its called oversteer and its been around since the dawn of time.... people who call it 'drifting' and say that 'fwd cars can't drift' are ------- gay as ----. if someone wants to have fun oversteering in their FWD car, let them do it, don't get mad and call them fags for 'trying to drift it in their fwd car'

regardless, its all gay

I drifted my car a few times without the e-brake and I wasn't going fast coming in the corner.
I'm boosting 14 psi though..daily on my ZC so that helps also...one tap on the throttle in a corner and that thing goes sideways like it's on skates ;D . You need a fast spooling turbo though...I got a T3/T4E 57 trim, but the turbine is tiny A/R .36...so it's begins to spool between 2500-2900 and is at full boost before 3500.
