Tig welding

Re:Tig welding
well what kind of brand to buy is obvious miller, hobart(basicly the same co.) or lincoln the big question is what size you need, do you plan on welding lots of thick aluminum or are you going to be sticking with steel mostly are you going to use it for long periods at a time or are you going to weld a piece then fit it then weld more. basicly do you plan on welding for a living if so buy a heavy duty power supply if you like me and weld more as a hobby then a smaller unit will work fine.

Re:Tig welding
I agree with beau.. I got the miller 180sd and like it alot. For most fabricating and building that will be plenty for you. Unless you plan to weld non stop for a couple hours. If you got money htp makes a very nice 100% duty cycle welder.

Re:Tig welding
If you are going to purchase something new, do some shopping and then find what you want on Ebay.
I actually found out that I can get a better price a Miller welders from a seller on Ebay (with free shipping) than from the local Miller distributors. I was told that some of the larger welding supply sellers on Ebay are just factory direct sellers, so they advertise very good deals on Ebay.
