those against domestics...

Re:those against domestics...
bummer, looks like i got to this party a little late.
here's my thoughts on the situation- i hate people who discriminate towards car companies in general, every car i've had has been a different make because at one time or another car companies get it right with a vehicle and nothing that anyone can say about them can change the fact that it's a kickass vehicle. so being brand loyal can make you miss out on a lot of good vehicles.
also i chose a neon because i like being different than other people. i don't like to roll up in the same car as everyone else- it reminds me of the honda saying i saw on some other forum one time: get a honda and be different- just like your friends i have nothing against a honda and actually think they are better vehicles by far over what i have, however these days it's too easy to make power with a honda, and for me i have to do everything the hard way- if it's too easy it's no fun for me, that's why i went with the neon.
as far as prejudice goes, here's how i see it- when the import guys first got started the domestic guys gave them all sorts of grief for their front drive antics- and now the import crowd is so huge they're kind of doing the same thing to domestic sport compacts because that scene is still fairly small: that said if you meet a TRUE car guy, he will be impressed with the effort that went into your car no matter who made it. he/she recognizes that time sweat and tears went into making this vehicle what it is and they can appreciate that as fellow car people.
That has been my experience with people at the track anyway. misinformed people will always have biases, you just have to let things slide off, and let your car's performance speak for you- that usually shuts them up

That about sums it up... Now to the Atkin's Diet--> totally blown out of proportion. For some it works and for others it doesnt. You're best bet for a diet is to get your @$$ off a computer and move around like staying under a car and inhale some carbon monoxide or lift some engines day in and day out.
Diet and exercise go hand in hand and not one without the other. My $0.02--still munching on my In-N-Out cheeseburger... YUMM!!
