hahahahahahaha whats up doctor math

4inch radius bend is exactly that. its bent into the curve of a circle with a 4 inch radius

the 90º part of bend is telling you how big the bend is. 90º 1/4th of the circle right?.. right.

radius is the mesurement from the centerpoint of the circle to the outside of the circle.

i hope this drawing helps.

That is some good explaining RAWR, but (not to tell a man his business) I believe that most mandrel bends are spec'd as center line radius or CLR. That would make your 4" dimension come to the center of the tube instead of the outer radius. Just my two cents.

So "link" can use the same drawing, he'll just need to know from Mike (LSD) what the CLR measurement is for the pipes he purchased.

i figured id draw that and it would be the radius of the center circle.

change my numbers from

point a to point c = 4

point a to point b = 6.5

Actually you'd have to add a point "d" right where the tip of your arrow is, and that'd be a 4" CLR. I dug this pic up, mabye it'll explain better.

The very first pipe (conduit 1) has a 20" CLR in that pic. From the center point, to the middle of the PIPE, not the inner or outer edge of the pipe.

thats weird that they would measure it from the center of the tube

CLR = CENTER LINE Radius. As in the radius of the center line. Where else would you expect the center of the tube to be?

NSF = NO ------- ----. I think its weird that they would use the centerpoint of the tube.
