Re: SSS Autochrome
hey good for ss auto_____ and good for hmt, There is no questions about the manifolds, but there othere products aren't that well known. As long as jeff provides HMT with an honest opinion of the product, It wlil be cool for us. If the stuff works, it works

Re: SSS Autochrome
I've had one of his 35mm wastegates for almost a year now with no problems. I have the knock off rfls waiting to go on. If jeff green flags the turbo I might put one on my built zc when I get around to finishing it this winter. I'd also be willing to prototype one of his new mani's on it. Have an all ssauto setup

Re: SSS Autochrome
d15 motor but i got the d16 manifold. and it was ordered from ss not ebay. it came in a box that said xspower all over it. i got the turbo and mani for free so i can't complain. but when i heard about the manifolds i took the turbo apart to look at it. and the cold side is one piece not two like the china one

Re: SSS Autochrome
See, I used a XS power mani on a ZC turbo project about 1 1/2 years ago and it worked ok. I think the big problem are the B-series ones. Since he sent me one yesterday I took a close look at it, and this is what I found.
1. The braces on the manifold was broke when I got it? maybe it happened in shipping I dont know.. But the packaging was very nice and I dont see how any damage could have happened. Obviously this is a easy fix.

2. I couldnt help but notice how much the flange/collector was tilted at almost a 7 degree angle downward. It is said that anything over what 10 degrees? is way to much. I'm just curious on why the manifold is even setup like that? Also, The WG port is in the wrong spot unless you like 850 degrees blowing out by your compressor housing. This manifold wont support t3/t4's (compressor side pass)

3. When I bolted the manifold to the block for inspection I noticed a huge gap on the end, so I put the manifold on several different flat surfaces to find out the head flange was heavily warped,

I emailed all this information to him, with his response was he wanted to retire that manifold and come up with a new design and asked for my input.

Re: SSS Autochrome
well mines no where near titled that much ha. its tilted alittle. but its turned to. i have to have my exhaust side on the passanger side. if i put the cold side on the passanger side the housin will touch the block and won't bolt to the manifold. so i have to have my downpipe right next to the radiator which sucks and heats up and causes my radiator to heat up and my car over heat when i'm giving it full throttle. so now i have to spend like 100 bucks for some heat wrap. which sucks
