at the current standards. not after they are done with them. what don't you understand?

obongoos stimulus plan. bankrupt auto companies further after giving them billions of dollars.

WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama wants automakers to make greener cars at a time when General Motors and Chrysler are hanging by the thread of a massive government loan and auto sales have plummeted to their lowest levels in more than two decades.

Obama's plans could bring smaller cars, more hybrids and advanced fuel-saving technologies to showrooms, but car shoppers will probably pay more upfront because the new rules are expected to cost the hamstrung industry billions of dollars.

That's assuming the states are stupid enough to risk their own industry by imposing laws that will be harmful for auto companies... Are there any states that don't have some sort of income from auto manufacturers?

Either way, the companies would simply build their cars to comply with the strictest state. Don't they already do that now for the most part because of California?

You said he was giving the state's control of emissions requirements, right? Like how FL already decided they weren't doing that ---- anymore? How does that impact me in the slightest? Sure, the KKKali and Jerzey people are completely fucked, but that's what you get for living in overpopulated shitholes where legislation goes the way of overpopulated shitholes... you know, china, and loss of individual rights. But, nope! Doesn't effect me.

I can't wait for population growth to hit peak in the 2040s and fall off abruptly.

My Mustang doesn't even have cat's and it passes PA emissions. I love not having a sniffer test.

A fresh engine in decent tune (under 40K miles for sure, more than that it's up to the engine's condition) will pass a 4 gas without cats. All the Socal Hybrid board guys were doing it in '97, twelve year old newz John-Knee.

yes they do. thats the problem with the entire thing. they still sell the most cars in kalifornia so they would build to their standards.

it might not effect you in that way. but if you ever want to buy a new car it will. and it will impact the entire country's economy.

i guess it doesn't really matter the feds will just impose very strict standards and it'll ---- us all.

like that douche he tapped for EPA sec... rich faggot loser who flys around in private jets, and tells people to stop driving their car. his jet in one trip uses more gas than my truck in its entire lifetime.

i don't deq here, and would move if i had to :)

Funny, I recall California emissions cars and 49 states emissions cars coexisting. I also recall the eastern seaboard being higher populated than California. Something doesn't add up here, I wonder what it could be?

So what? Everything impacts the entire country's economy, including how many kids buy 25 cent bubble gum from gumball machines on odd numbered Tuesdays. You read too much into things, sometimes.

John, I thought this was about the federal government giving back control to the states? Are you confused? Do you need to sit down a minute and let your brain cell rest?

seriously... get a clue.

all obongooo did was let sign a EO that let the states impose stricter limits than the feds. that doesn't mean the feds won't impose very strict standards. which they are planning on doing.

Its all about money. In NC you really dont even have to pass emissions. If it wont pass, you can opt out and pay the $250 fine and drive for another year on your enviroment polluting crap car. They wont do emissions testing for the enviroment, but to keep track of your mileage, and tax you on the # of miles you drive every year. Its coming, just wait.
