Re: Spotted new Camaro..
all 3 fail
the new 2010 mustang is ugly (which is sad i really liked the look of the 2005-2009 body style) the new challenger is sick looking and it's cool even the v6 has the hood scoops but it's just to heavy for anything less than the r/t and the camaro is pretty sweet, it does not look to bad and i like the using the di hf 3.6v6 but allong with the challenger it's just to heavy but the real problem i see with all three is the fact that they are trying to make the cars nostalgic and replicate a modern rendition of the muscle cars of the 60's and 70's but the thing is back then you could get a base camaro (or mustang or challenger) with radio,ac,carpet, floor mat, and more delete which lightened the cars (thus making them faster) which allowed them to be cheaper thus allowing them to appeal to a larger market and allow the buyers money to go to the engine and transmission of their choice now days if you buy a mustang and want a v8 you can't get a base mustang with a v8 and a 5 speed you have to get a gt which includes bigger wheels, leather seats, and all kinds of bullshit not everyone wants i honostly think if they make it to where you can order cars like you used to be able to (and should still considering the price of a new car now) then they auto market would go up, more people would spend their money on buying a new car and getting exacly what they want instead of leasing a generic suv or somthing and just settling for decent transportation because it's only $250 a month i know i would have bought a g8 gt if i could get it with cloth interior and a 5/6 speed manual tranny without the fancy radio and navigation and stc, tcs, abs, all that bullshit worst part is if they got rid of the bullshit they could sell the cars for allot less so to all auto manufactures allow the people to buy your cars the way they want them not the generic carbon coppies of eachother that you are selling (but hey this one is blue.....) it's like going to a japan and ordering a steak yeah technically it's a steak but it's not the same as in texas |
Re: Spotted new Camaro..
That'd be nice newb, and I wish more manufacturers would give more options as far as what I do/don't want, but it won't happen.
They use the more powerful engines to drive up what they can charge out the door. IE, if you want the top model, you're going to have to pay for it. I doubt they want a lot of people getting the beastly models for only slightly more than the base model. |
Re: Spotted new Camaro..
Last time I checked you can special order cars. Not sure if you still can.

Re: Spotted new Camaro..
It's called economies of scale.
It's cheaper to make 1 part (leather seats) and shove it into 100,000 vehicles. Rather then building niche versions for a select few. Very few of todays consumers care about weight, and they want "more" in a car in terms of gadgets. Plus the demographic they are aiming towards were in in their early teens when the original versions were new. 20 somethings's aren't the people they are geared towards, the core demographic is 38-60. |

but only to the extent of picking from a few defined colors (interior and exterior) a couple option boxes such as navigation and if your getting the base model you can opt for the larger wheels that come on the more expensive model that is literally all you can pick from it's completely bullshit |
