I'm not a big Scoobie fan, but for you to not know the difference makes me wish you get fisted by multiple large gay men. :3

Any motor can be indestructible at the power those things have. All EJ22's leak Valve covers, oil pump, cam/crank seals. The newer subaru stuff is getting a lot better but their early stuff sucked.

A local here who was a tuner and owned a dyno had a mid 80's Subaru turbo which he fabbed a mani for,GT28R,Holley pro jection, custom top mount intercooler etc etc.It looked like a flaming pile of ---- on the outside but it actually went pretty good.It was laggy as ---- due to the 8-1 or lower compression but made some half decent torque.I think he got it to run a low 14 wheel hopping like a bastard.I will try to find some pics for you the fab work under the hood was beautiful as he is a A or B ticket welder and pro with the tig.

88, I did fleet maintanence on a pile of first gen Legacy back a decade ago. At 200 to 300K they were nothing like you are describing. 90, EA82 spool late because they make LS look like a good cam design. I've seen dynos of 20 wtq gains in the midrange from cam swaps and the car still idles stock.

See now this is better news, yes there fugly as ---- but I will asume the have forged rods and pistons and for a winter death machine how could you go wrong? FMIC bigger turbo 15 psi awd and flat black battle paint. Sounds like a army of one to me O0

You never saw the Turbo Justy? EJ12 rods make GSR look -----, and they don't have a revlimiter because they don't need one. 8K makes peoples eyes bug out in a Justy.

NO I most surly did not, factory turbo or something someone built? Pics? I'm rocking a 91 sprint right now with the 1.0l 3cyl, they are both suzuki engines I think, so it would be similer? This car makes me want to kill myself though, but for 100.00, 3 exhaust valves and a head set its alright. I have seen a awd justy that was not like ours but based on the sprint/swift body with subaru badges from europe or some ----.

I wouldn't go that far...ej22t's are solid motors with solid deck type designs, but good luck trying to find one stateside in a legacy...wrx only. The standard ej22 non-turbo models are alright, but they have the same basic block design as the notorious ej25's...open deck, weak cylinders and such, not to mention only sohc with shitty cam profiles. EJ25's from the late 90's are junk through and through (just fixed an ej25 in my 97 legacy gt...makes working on hondas look like masterbating), with 90% of them having blown headgaskets due to shitty factory designs and composite material. Newer replacement gaskets for them are now all MLS gaskets, so that issue is taken care of for the most part, although there are reports of newer designed ej25's (2000+) having the same overheating and HG issues. The EJ series is nice in the compatability factor, you can swap parts and heads etc. around like honda D and B series. Downside if doing timing belts of dohc EJ's...horizontal engines with 4 cam sprockets and a multitude of tensioners are a nightmare.

Dude the EJ22T came in all the 91-94 BC6/BF6 turbo legacies you fuckface. Get your ---- strizzaight. Not to mention they have VLSD rear diffs also and thats a bonus too. The internals are good up to 350crank hp being the forged rods and super low compression pistons(8.0 to 1). The numbers it puts out is crazy for a turbo'd 2.2L engine then again it's nonintercooled and only pushing like 7-8psi so it's rather conservative for the reliability point of view for the manufacturer. Now toss a FMIC or hell just a WRX or STI TMIC and you should see some better numbers. Also the tranny in the turbo model is alot stronger then the NA tranny. I drove a legacy wagon and good god that fucker was HUGE! My wife's chevy venture felt like the same size as that thing seriously. My wife works for the city and the police department are going to be getting rid of their meter maid RHD legacy for dirt cheap(under 2g's). EJ20TT are under 1g on ebay all the time and came in the Legacy's stock. The EJ20TT won't work with in the USDM Legacy.
