Re: Solid setup specs *with lots of turbo pics*
I have to tell you guys, that after 5 years of working in dealerships, I'll never use aftermarket oil filters for my cars. Have you guys ever seen the difference between a manufacturer one and one of those fram units?
I've seen tons of problems result from using those things, and it's only a few more dollars for a good one. so that's the way I'm going.
Dodge diesels were blowing up for a little while because people were putting fram oil filters on them, and they weren't even close to filtering enough out, started throwing rod bearings like you wouldn't beleive- saw at least 5 of them go bad just in my small town I was in. And trust me, Dodge was none too happy about ponying up the money to replace those engines. Some customers were getting screwed.

OOOH yeah, I have seen the guts of several different makes of oil filters and WIX is by far the best. at the end of the filter media they're capped with metal ends where as Frams and several others use card board that will break down and clog up oil passages and pick up tubes!!! , I dont care if you've got a $300 dirty D or A $15,000 big block V8 I like working on stuff to make it better not to repair stoopid mistakes.
