i would toast that evo off the line, i can go WOT off the line and not break the tires loose until i build boost, and then all i gotta do is back off a tad and they grab and im gone.

thats one thing my car does good right now is leave

are you sure about that one. seems like you havent raced an awd car, im not saying theyre fast as hell or anything, but awd does have its advantages over rwd, and that is launching on street tires. its 60ft would own your 60ft all day if the driver knew how to launch, and if you can launch like that, you must not be making much torque, and/or youre spinning the clutch to hell

may own my 60 ft but what about 330ft????

ive seen lots of evos stis dsms and wrxs launch hard off the limited and they skip off the line real fast then when the motor catches up with the tires they bog until it builds boost.

it may own me off the line, but all im sayin is if i launch at idle, with the AOD and 3.55 gears i can get movin in a hurry without spinning the tires over till the top of 1st, where im already going pretty fast, and when they start to spin i just click 2nd and let off a tad then get right back into it. works real well. id have to see.

this is on real low boost thou, if i turned it up any im sure it would just smoke the 225s no matter what i did :)

i would like to see a video of you launching.. :)

(i am not being sarcastic.. i really would)

i watched a guy at national trails in columbus ohio race his evo. he had many many parts on it. alky injection, larger turbo, manifold, exhaust.. you name it he pretty much had it.
he ran a 12.0 ::) he launched way to high and dropped the clutch.

when you see a properly launched awd, they will rev to about 5k and slip the clutch building boost so when it is all the way out there is not lag waiting for the engine to catch up. but this will easily toast a stock clutch.

i watched a friend from buschur racing launch a evo and pull a 1.7 on the street tires, it sounds like pavement just rips up.

this is the best i can come with. its my only trip to the track. this was before ted and jeff helped me build some good charge pipes.

it was about 5 1/2 pounds with leaky pipes. but i had lots of probs at the track, chage pipes came off. trans shifted into OD early even when the shifter is in DRIVE.

in the video the trans shifted into OD way early and killed my run. you can hear it if you turn up the speakers. its the really slow shift you can hear it :/

this is launching literally... at idle.

what did the timeslip look like? or rather, what does your best timeslip look like? (best 60', 330'.. etc.) maybe not all in the same run

and you could hear it shift.

its sweet to hear the turbo and a v8... i could only wish insurance would permit me to purchase like a 03 cobra.. and maybe make it spool... =) (i might have to wait til I am 50 to afford i tthough!)

eh i pay 150/month for full coverasge for my mustang lol

i wish i could afford a 03 cobra too lol

best 60 was 2.4 i think... 330 i dunno id have to look. im gettin sick of my mustang anyways, open downpipes suck ass, the AOD sucks ass, and everything rattles in it lol

best 330ft timeslip i have is 5.375

this is a more interesting video. https://www.homemadeturbo.com/jbliss...burnin_off.wmv

Re: Sold my civic.. bought something new =) ... sort of big pics... 56k.. =(

Back from the dead, but there is just more insult to injury for me..

so i sold the civic and the new owner picked up the body panels i had for it (stock hood, extra front bumper, a whole body kit i had laying around and a handful of other parts). he also bought the rims from me too

I get a call the next day

him: 'What's the deal with this car you sold me?'
me: '??'
him: 'There is a hole in the back of the block'

I ask him what happened and he said that he was 'driving normal and it shut off and wouldn't start' and told me a shop told him that the civic could not have been turbod for two years and that I sold him a car with a hole in the back of the block. I told him that holes in blocks generally do not occur when you are crusing at 20 mph with little load on the car and I asked him again how was he driving it. He told me 'like a boosted car should be driven'... bingo. Then i asked 'how exactly is that' and he replied 'i got into it a little... 6k rpm.. or more.. i don't really know how high i revved it'..... well the 'normal' driving just turned into beating on it.

to think, he had the car a few weeks and i had driving it, raced it, and drove it back and forth to school for two years without any turbo related problems. my water pump leaked.. that was a problem. but no smoking, no bad compression (it was 188/189 across the board when i sold it)

then he asked for his money back... ::)

=(

all that work.. gone

So whats the deal are you gonna have to refund him? I dont think that you legally would have to give him his cash back.
