Yeah, people who bitch about other people's "ideas" are about as lame as people that blindly believe certain domestics are TEH GRATEST EVAR!!11 and everything else is ----.

It's understandable for someone in their teens, but it's really sad when grown adults resort to name-calling and argue ---- without backing it up with factual information.

Let me guess you're an only child and you've always acted like a weird ****** to get attention.

Go on then, come up with an utterly sufficient language to talk to your pagan gods and take over the world. Or perhaps you don't understand what I'm saying because the language I speak is utterly insufficient.

umm... you do know that someone.. NOT ME.. posted that message here on HMT.. i read it about a year back and loved how it was put..

so excuse me if you think I'm loony..

but unlike you.. I DON'T FEAR such mythology concept as GOD... Also I don't practice or follow pagan belief system.. nor do i believe into a god as you do. but rather.. I AM GOD... I am a part of whatever it is.. god is.. existence is god.. In attempting to describe "Pure Being" or God, and in the effort to arrive at some understanding of the nature of divinity, the formula of negation has been evolved. God is not this; God is not that; God is no-thing; God is neither time nor space; God is not feeling or thought; God is not form or substance. God simply IS.

Another concept i don't accept is the Jesus Christ Savior concept.. i don't accept him as my lord and savior. frankly if you look at him in a historical settings. there is absolutely no evidence to say he even existed.. i mean were talking about a figure here who literally changed the world.. yet no physical or historical evidence about him with the exception of hearsay from a 2000 year old book. (What about the Apostle's? they told of Jesus story) Did they? every single apostle wrote about Jesus 40 years after his soppse death.. and not while they were traveling with the guy.. but if anything here is the kicker... John the apostle (john the beloved) was banished to the island of patmos in 92 Ad. it was a barren isolated island which was very hard to survive at the time, he sopposeally wrote revelations 5 years later after his banishment and died in 102 AD, (btw this information is proven records through history) John the apostle wrote his chronicals with Jesus 40 years after his death in 68 AD, and wrote revelations 30 years then after. after his first book. that would make John 100 years old when he wrote revelations according the to Vatican records. that's the thing.. you see.. most people would be.. DEAD.. at 100.. esp 2000 years ago when the average life span was 65 TOPS.. or maybe John never even walked with jesus. and wasn't even born in the same time line as Jesus, he must of been 30 when he wrote his first book. and 65ish if he even wrote revelations.

either way look at history and see the bullshit theory..

if anything, if by chance the actual Jesus Christ did exist. i believe that Jesus Christ is dead and that he's going to stay dead just like everybody else. but if by some miracle he did come back, i believe he'd be embarrassed to be worshiped ashamed of Christianity and disgusted by Christians.

So you admit being an irrational, biased, closed minded individual. How in the world does it ever seem like a perfect explanation to put faith in something that has no objective value or clause? It's called magically thinking, people extrude meaning from things where there is none. It's behavioral science, and evolutionary psychology, humans fear the unknown because when we had to run from things that would eat you, if you didn't know where or what something was, it could kill you.

If we don't have a quick explanation for why we are here and the meaning of everything, you'd have to think about it.
When organized religion has been particularly designed to implement a control system to better society, thinking about things is bad.

That is though, exactly what religion adaptively became, a means to convince stupid people that they have to behave morally, because if they don't something really bad will happen to them. Religion as we know it is in place to keep stupid people from ------- up anything good about society, but since the rise of organized religion any one with religious power regularly abuses it. As any human would who is functioning on the same superficial prowess of being "a good christian", but that is universal, all positions of power throughout history. Stupid people are greedy.

just because you believe in stupid wierd ---- and its different than the majority doesn't mean you're "smart" or "open-minded"

I never said I believed in it, I can understand why someone would.

The same reason you'd jump to that conclusion is the same reason that you'd dismiss evolutionary theories.

Societal integration and behavioral modification is nothing new, what do you think the prison system originally set out to do? Once group families began to assimilate, way back in the days of homo habilis, it became frowned on if you did anything that remotely affected the group adversely. Those who weren't constructive members were thrown out. Chimps do it.

If you really think about it people are still monkeys, and they would still rather take comfort in a manufactured idea than actually try to think and deduce enough about themselves and how their psyche functions. That takes work, work that isn't necessary for survival, and work that doesn't have immediate returns.

I know why people don't do it, but it's a shame that they don't.

Johnny if you really want a "good book" go look up some essays on evolutionary psychology, and existentialism. A good book being one by Robert Wright called "The Moral Animal".

Or is that witchcraft?

guess what, i don't care enough to read anything about it. i'm simply stating just because someone believes somethng different than the majority doesn't make them smarter or open-minded than anything else. have you ever stopped to think maybe religious people are right? that would make the minority the stupid people.

you can't prove religion or big bang/evolution, so if you want your faith/religion to be government and science way to go it doesn't make you smart or better than anyone

I don't see anywhere that he's stated he's better or smarter, or even what he believes in.

Listening to other's opinions/beliefs does make you open-minded. Immediately discounting someone's beliefs because they are different than yours does make you close-minded and ignorant. There's more proof against the factuality of religion than there is for it.
