yes. there are some instances where you can have it in your parents name, but you own the car, but then it just takes 2 signatures to transfer the car.
when you turn 18, transfer it to you.
or
don't register it and have someone buy replacement tags/stickers and give em to you for the license plate.

drive it home as-is. Or go to the DMV and get a one day permit, don't give the DMV the info of the RX7 cause then they will want you to pay up the fees, just use the civic. Shop teacher ask, say I got a permit from the DMV to drive it home. Drive it home, wait a week when you could register it in YOUR name. ---- that registering it in your buddy's name.

Bring in your Civic information and say that you left your plates at a shop your car was at and you want to go get them back, or some bs like that.

in washington it is 27 bucks for a 3 day trip permit and you don't have to give them any info on the car all you have to do is show them your drivers lisence and they cop your personal info... then you just put the paper in th eback window like when you buy a brand new car..
