Ruger makes good revolvers and rimfires, 10/22 is the king of rimfire rifles, and their 22's are amoung the best, but the quality control and 'warranty' sucks and their semi-autos are hit and mostly miss

Your gonna base your opinion on one gun when the ammo used was never listed?

How much you wanna bet the gun was using reloads, had a primer slightly above correct height and bent the firing pin?

Cast Lead 175 gr SWC's will not feed after about 100 rounds, but then again the gun wasn't meant to fire those style of reloads.

But what do I know, I've only reloaded 20,000+ rounds, even used 40 S&W reloads in my Glock G22 which is said to be impossible.

Your basis of Ruger being junk is like someone on HT saying the junkass turbo kit on ebay is great and will never fail, you have no clue or facts.

reloads in a glock is not impossible its just that after a while the barrel will foul too much because of the way glocks are rifled. glocks use octagonal rifling which has a lot more contact with the bullet when fired compared to traditional rifling.

i have 2 rugers a p95dc (9mm decocker) and a p944 (40 cal.) both centerfire guns and are the best weapons i could ever pick for the price, i did have a problem with the p95 about 3k rounds in, the ejector tooth bent, i called ruger they sent me one with a guide how to put it in, took about 10 min and about 4k rounds after repair no problems. the 40 cal has no problems except when i try and use that really cheap walmart ammo. not the winchester white box either the blue crap in a shell that has to be pinned twice before detonation.

if i had to choose between any other firearm in the less than 500 dollar range i would take a hunting knife.
