A short timeline of events (some still in progress)
So, the battery in my laptop's been crap for a minute now. Also, three pixels in the screen are dead. I never ever ever see them except when using NisTune, dunno what's up with that, but I figured better safe than sorry especially since I still have a warranty on the thing.
I call up Lenovo around 30pm last Friday, push '1' twice, and wait about thirty seconds for a human being to pick up. Dude's name is Omar, and he's straight outta Atlanta and speaks my language unlike some companies that only employ "Matt," "Mark," or "Chris" from India, who don't know what a pixel is. It takes me about a minute thirty to tell this guy my name, the serial number of my laptop, and that my battery and screen are ----. He counters with "a box to ship your laptop in will be on your doorstep early Monday morning, it will take three business days to to complete the repairs and return it to you."
So, box came in this morning, I dropped it off just a few minutes ago so it can go to a repair facility in Memphis, and I guess I'll have it back Thursday or Friday. Yeah, that sounds great and all, but you really need to read this thread to understand what I'm talking about: https://www.homemadeturbo.com/forum/...595#msg1231595
Mister Omar, a redblooded American Citizen, didn't try to sell me ---- or tell me that my next to new laptop was outdated. He just handled my problem, period. ---- Yeah!

Last time I complained to Harbor Freight, it was the local outlet and they told me to get fucked to my face. I almost got angry but realised I was out two dollars and went home to netsearch an American alternative.

very nice jd. what unit do you have anyway? I just bought an SL500 with a core 2 duo 5870 (2 gig, 800mhz fsb) 2gig ram and 160gig hd. Not top of the line maybe but it was cheap- $559. seems pretty good soo far
