I dont think I would use a 223, it would probably do the job but i'd opt for my commie favorite, 7.62x39, or if you got one an M1a would work well. .softtip .308 would ---- an alligator up.

pretty sure some rounds from a mini14 are more than enough to put down a gator..

1 shot 1 kill. Get the job done on the first round, so always go overkill. Im selling my AR now because it doesn't have nearly the takedown power of a .30xx round. Next AR im building will be in 7.62x39, IMO the best overall round, cheap, reliable, accurate to 300 yards, and much more takedown than a .223 but with a less than a .308

the "takedown" powere of .223s and 7.62x39mm is debatable.

just hang out in a tree then jump down on top of the gator with a big ------- knife.

if crocodile dundee can do it im sure you can as well. but make sure your on film doing this.
