SC's new Gator Hunting!!- UPDATE!
***UPDATE***
So, I go home yesterday.. check the mail.. and I have an envelope from South Carolina Department of Natural Resources (DNR). I go inside, drop the rest of the mail, and hurry to open my future. Inside, it says that I have been selected to recieve a Gator Huntin License. I was so excited. So f'n excited. I GOTTA GET IT!! ***UPDATE*** So, South Carolina has developed a season for hunting alligators. The state is divided into 4 regions to hun them, of which 1, I have seen gators in. So, the state's gator population is over 100k. BUT, they're only issuing 1000 licenses. In order to get a license, you must pay $10 for the application, then they draw 1000 people to get a license, then pay another $100 for the actual license. SO.. I paid my $10. The rules of the gator hunt are quite suicidal. #1. The alligator must be at least 4 feet long.( Because the mothers get very defensive if u kill their 2 foot baby) #2. The alligator CANNOT be killed in mid water. One of the following must occur A. You must TIE the gator up B. You must get the gator onto land. C. You must get the gator beside your boat D. Then u can kill the mutha fucka!! So, basically, you set yourself out on a suicide mission! Would any of u nogs do this? Honestly, do you have the balls to hunt a 10 ft alligator? What supplies would you bring? What would you kill it with? |
Re: SC's new Gator Hunting!!
If you are asking questions about how then I would suggest you not do this yourself.
Just get the license and sell the thing. You will be better off that way. I know in LA they just make traps for them and then come get the gators when they are caught on the line and can't get anywhere. |
Re: SC's new Gator Hunting!!
Bow and arrow
Just lure one onto land with meat on a stick, them BOOM HEADSHOT! |
Re: SC's new Gator Hunting!!
they have thick skin.... which the bigger ones can repel bullets....
|
Re: SC's new Gator Hunting!!
Sorry, but the outlawed armor piercing rounds will penetrate. Even if I have to use the 9 mili!!
|
Re: SC's new Gator Hunting!!
I saw a gator a couple months ago on Kiawah Island. Yeah...im a baller like that.
|
Re: SC's new Gator Hunting!!
I'm working on a 30mm airburst round that's fired from an MK44 here at work... that should do the trick :P
|
Re: SC's new Gator Hunting!!
any decent rifle round placed well should do the trick. I wouldnt trust any pistol rounds besides the huge calibers, just not enough muzzle velocity.
|
Re: SC's new Gator Hunting!!
Yeah use a shorter barreled rifle, like a Ruger mini, Remmington 600, or something of the likes.
I'd give it a try with a couple friends, sounds like an adrenaline rush. |
Re: SC's new Gator Hunting!!
Psh just look around and shoot him wherever he is. Screw those lame rules. Send me the skin I want a new suit.

Re: SC's new Gator Hunting!!
I dont think I would use a 223, it would probably do the job but i'd opt for my commie favorite, 7.62x39, or if you got one an M1a would work well. .softtip .308 would ---- an alligator up.

Re: SC's new Gator Hunting!!
just hang out in a tree then jump down on top of the gator with a big ------- knife.

i like that compressed air gun in "no country for old men"

Re: SC's new Gator Hunting!!
Can't use an AK here. They're illegal. I'm trying to hunt legally.
|
Re: SC's new Gator Hunting!!
I bet they are legal, but theres some loopholes you got to get around, I'm sure you could get a SKS or something along those lines
|
Re: SC's new Gator Hunting!!
im pretty sure an old school m44 would do the trick
|
Re: SC's new Gator Hunting!!
illegal to own, or use an ak47, cuz ak47 are 100% legal in the rest of the us as long as they are semi-auto.

What the hell are you talking about? If I can get a legal AK in CA, I'm sure you can get them in damn near every other state. And of course they arent full auto. |
Re: SC's new Gator Hunting!!
Ching chong......
SUp ------. |
Re: SC's new Gator Hunting!!
This has alot to do with why I don't hunt. Who the ---- wants to bother with all those damn rules. License to hunt this, license to hunt that. It's just another $10-$20 a pop going to their ------' pockets. And I think it was Doug who commented about ---- those rules or whatever...YOU DO NOT WANT TO GET POPPED BY A GAME WARDEN. The fines for getting caught breaking those laws are murderous. Don't shoot a deer from the road, you can't shoot a deer in a baited area, etc. etc. I'd rather have a mote with a pet alligator as opposed to killing one anyways...

Re: SC's new Gator Hunting!!
you can use a semi automatic rifle here in CA, but you cannot have over a certain amount of rounds in the magazine ( i believe its 3) Im not too sure though, all i hunt is ------.

Re: SC's new Gator Hunting!!
in oregon you can use semi auto rifles for hunting

I live on the nc/sc border. Why haven't i heard of this?
Anyway, i think they're great for controlling the deer population. The more of them, the less deer that meander into the road. |
