Re: Refund or not?

these turbos shouldnt see over 30-35psi of oil pressure

yes time and money .. it takes time to fab up flanges, piping . lines etc.. for a snowmobile.. why would i want to do all that for this turbo if there is a posibility that i may have to get a new one and make all that stuff over again

parts and material cost money.. yea alot of it i can manage to use off stuff around the shop but that would still invest time to get it all done.. id rather just get it done and not have to worry about am i going to have to put another turbo on or not

Sorry dude but im far from a moron ive been working on cars, trucks and snowmobiles that have had f/i setups for quite a few years, im not some stupid 17 year old kid or whatever it is you think

what sense are you trying to " beat".. cause all ive seen you post is trash talking and nothing worthwhile

ill have a video up of my own showing how the wheel hits the housing and how much actual play there is.. also ill take pics of the dirty bolts just to show that i did not disassemble or modify this turbo in any way

yes so have i.. some didnt like it some did.. but after talking to people at garrett and turbonetics they say that no more than 30-35 is needed..

Re: Refund or not?

take some oil, pour it into the oil inlet, spin the turbo as you're doing it.

i bet after you run a tiny bit of oil through it it'll tighten up

just because you spin the turbo and it sounds like the fins are hitting the housing doens't mean they will when its being used. the turbos i put on my mustang had some play and if you really tried you could make the fins hit the housing, but i never had a problem with them when they were on the car for 2 years WOT everyday

Re: Refund or not?

yea.. well at least your trying to give decent info

Ive had it go both ways.. i really dont have to try hard to make it hit the housing.. and yes i know that with some oil pressure and when its moving that it will tighten up but my main concern is if im gonna go through all the modding i have to to make this work id feel alot better having a turbo that doesnt have so much play give me less to worry about

if the turbo is good like he claims i dont see and issue on sending it back to him and like i said i offered to pay the shipping back which in turn makes me lose money not him.. if he is still set on it being good he can re sell it.. but i dont feel comfortable with the ammount of shaft play it does have

when i get home from this business trip i will take some video of where it is hitting the housing and how much it moves and you guys can be the judge

why waste the money to ship? buy a rebuild kit and have your friend rebuild it for cheap. i mean come on.... what did you expect for $70?

we have gone through this before thinking that it would be ok with similar turbos and guess what.. it was not ok. if i had this exact turbo as a spare i would just run it and when it took a ---- i would slap my other one on it .. but when this does crap out and i don't have a turbo thats the same that means i have to fab up a whole new system.. costing me time, money and not being able to ride my snowmobile

and i didnt take it to a shop i had my coworkers who build turbos and work with them daily look at it.. if they though that it wouild be ok to use and would last a while i would just slap the bitch on and call it a day

you act like it's hard to find another 42/48 ::) if you build ---- for that it will work with just about any T3 exhaust side.
