No, I didn't...

Years ago I spent months repairing all the paint etc and doing the rust. I drove it since then. Then I went ahead and did the turbo twincam swap and put a flat deck on it.

I don't think it's fair to include the flat deck or chassis work etc. But, even if you do, it wouldnt be much over 5kus

Just remember at the time I did that work, 66us cents bought a hole NZ dollar.

If i tried to build the same thing here in england, I guarantee it would have cost around twice as much for everything...

Once again, pick a figure. Engine and turbo swap stuff, what have I forgotten?? come on man, its all on the table, prove me wrong :-)

I can get receipts for most stuff if you want proof.

GTR intercooler = 300nz/200us it arrived with two coats of different paint on it...

I spent over 2 days cleaning it, drying it, straightening all the fins etc to make it look like new.

etc.

It was a cheap build for what it is I assure you.

Dozens of people have told me that it looks good (from an engineering point of view) maybe a dozen have said it looks ---- (because its a truck). 13.0 ish may not be fast for you, but it's plenty fast for me. I get my kicks braking and cornering with skill, not dragging SUVs out of traffic lights...

grow up kid.

lol 13's in that piece of ---- ... haha its must be plenty fast for you! .. i was running mid 12's when i was 17 without a turbo ...without anything from my parents ... your right fred were 2 different people ... i make ---- go fast and you spend money and make ---- look pretty .. congrats your truck is very pretty ... just know that white kids in us build 4 door acura's without turbo's and they go faster than your your truck+ i can fit 4 bishes and go shopping
b20 motor i bought behind a business cause it had a bad head $5+
new built ls head with crower 404's springs.. ret.. the works .. stage 3 port & polish.. traded old parts +
gsr tranny .. came with shell stage 3 clutch +
80wet shot really good buddy hooked me up $150
faster e.t.'s then fred's truck = priceless

like i said fred.. you can have all the engineers you want tell you your truck is cool but in the u.s. it dont matter what you have.... a fast car is a fast car (or truck) ... and yours isn't .. so nice build ... looks real clean looks real mean.. but looks are one thing fred.. your missing the whole other half of the book... back on top

Will both of you idiots shut the ---- up.

This was a relic thread of badassness and then you two had to get ------- homosexual all over it. TurboThis was never trying to be the new HMT, nor was it trying to be DIYEFI, nor any direct competition with either.

If you can't respect JD for the things he's done as well as the time and dedication he's put into his craft, then you've missed the point. If you can't respect Fred for getting his project to output the proper pulsewidth to control an injector cycle, and writing the interface for it from scratch [sic], then you've missed the point.

If you keep playing swordfight with eachother you've officially found your way to Failsville, population: two insecure homos sucking eachothers dicks on the internet.

He's from NZ, and he has vids of that truck getting thrown around haggard *** dirt roads. He also probably did build that truck for less than $5k U.S.

Those Couriers are dime a dozen over seas, as well as NZ having a fairly limited economy, $5k is actually kind of on the steep side.

ROFL @ all of waffles comments. I do respect JD, and I could live peacefully with him, but he can't take being wrong. I said that way back somewhere..

I'll give you the first one, but my fab is decidedly average compared to say Starlet man (legend) and I have no idea about tuning, the truck is barely tuned at all. You'd laugh your **** off if you saw how badly it's tuned.

oh so slow : nice thread before, shame it disappeared so fast LOL. worst ---- i've seen since the last time I looked at rotten.com. bait taken. lol

The prices were all real, and the cost of living to earnings ratio is a lot better than here. I wouldn't talk too much about weak economies at the moment though ;-)

I'm no brit, they don't like me either, neither do most kiwis. I don't give a ----, I don't take ---- from anyone, and that annoys some people. I'm often not "in my place".

ROFL @ waffle again :-)

Fitting you would chime in about now... At least we cant blame this thread going to ---- on you... I believe the Kiwi Dingo berry gets the dubious distinction......

Seems any thread either of you (and/or cornholefuzed) touch turn to instant flaming fecal gayness.

Kudos.
