Re: Quick chipping question
I know, that has me a little concerned, would the GSR ecu throw a cel before even trying to start my turbo y7 though?
|
Re: Quick chipping question
it might be because the chip you have is used in a p06, wouldn't you have to import the tune to make it work in a p72?

Re: Quick chipping question
Is that true? I didnt think uber cared what kind of ecu it was going in.

Re: Quick chipping question
i think this might be why the p28 is the ----- of choice for chipping obd-1 motors..
i've looked at the goods in my chipped p28 and compared it with my stock p72. there's a lot of differences. you might have another couple pins to connect or even disconnect to make it work. |
Re: Quick chipping question
the resistor thing was the only difference I noticed in my p06, when I get a hold of my friend and put it in his car we'll get to the bottom of this.

Re: Quick chipping question
p72 equals easy to chip. The fact that it throws a solid cel before j1 is even jumped makes the fact that the problem is outside of the eprom section
|
Re: Quick chipping question
solid cel = ecu is fucked if your jumper is cut. when jumper is cut it should revert back to stock.

Re: Quick chipping question
nonvaginatech, I will not chill out. You failed to educate yourself about the hardware you are dealing with as your first step in the chipping process. Strike one. You keep making errors in education like that and strike three is going to be your motor. Maybe it's what you need to go through to learn, but I'm a devout believer in yelling at people to get their attention. Do I have yours?
90boostdaccord, OBD1 Civic/Integra ECU is OBD1 Civic/Integra ECU, the code is modular and interchangeable, except that P07 dual MCU garbage. Pointy-clicky in your ROM editor of choice to disable whatever hardware your ECU doesn't have installed and go.

Re: Quick chipping question
I know it's not going to start anyway with the jumper cut because I am running 450's on a sohc, a stock GSR map will not start my car, I know this. No one's motor is going to be blowing up, I know what I'm doing for the most part and just had never done a p72 before. Yes JD you have my attention, ok I will take it out and look at it with a magnifying glass like you said, thank you for the help.
