The exhaust side, like seemingly all German cylinder heads have ---- ports. The intake ports on the 20V heads I've managed to get some good flow #'s out of with minor work.

Germans just don't make good cylinder heads.

Yes I'd take the 997s over the R8.

GT3 heads are a thing of beauty though.
The ports are, to quote a friend, fistable.

I'd like to see one, I bet they are half decent. I used to do a lot of Porsche stuff, all 993 and previous generations though, and the best flowing heads were a "meh" at best.

Mostly I just work with GT1<newer and the M96 engines. Although ive come to love the simplicity that is the M44 4banger, regardless of its shortcomings.

You havent lived till youve riden in/driven a Carrera GT. Pure sechs. Not the fastest car in the world, but God damn what a beautiful exhaust note!

I'd love to bag on a GT, longs ways out of my price range though. To be honest though, there is something I miss about my old 78 930, the car just has a classic look, the brakes were too small, handling was- a handful, it wasn't fast, but damn, it was fun.

Here is was I'm working with. What is the best way to pull the oil pan so I can replace the rings? A4s are horrible to work on! VW people please chime in!
