I do like the infinitti's my brothers old car was a j30 was'nt too bad to work on, I mainly just did maintnance items on it but I thought it looked like an egg, kind of an ugly car with a super nice interior, I beleive it was a 94. Now he has a 97 Q45 and that car is super nice v8 as well, gets decent mpg, classy looking, super nice interior, and he picked it up for 7k and it had been very well taken care of. I would recomend a q45 as well

Out of your two suggestions, i'd go for the wrx, if nothing else, for a change.
Yes, its probably more expensive to work on then a honda, but its AWD and you can get pretty decent figures out of them for not massive money.
Depends what you really want from a daily driver. I'd prefer to roll in a lexus with double glazing and massage your butt seats.
I'd be quite tempted by a lexus soarer (2.5TT) nice looks, cheap as ---- and the engines are damn near bomb proof. Supposedly the v8 runs so smooth you can balance a coin on it while running.
