Pics of JHill's Road Race CRX (TUNED!)
Me and Jim finally got his Crx tuned with the AEM EMS, he’s going to be doing a road race event Sat at Mission Raceway in BC. He's just about done with his car, so I took a few pics today, (the car looks really nice guys!)
https://www.homemadeturbo.com/jim/89dx.jpg Ahh yes, the nice bright yellow, sporting his new 15in wheels, and new toyo rubber. https://www.homemadeturbo.com/jim/rear.jpg Jim, took off a few of his stickers, but still sports the ANGEL sticker I put on for him ;) https://www.homemadeturbo.com/jim/cage1.jpg Jim’s cage is all done, and looks really nice! He painted the entire inside of the car "Battleship Grey" https://www.homemadeturbo.com/jim/cage2.jpg Had to gut the inside of the LH door to get the cage to clear. https://www.homemadeturbo.com/jim/doorpan.jpg Sexy door panel, but if you look close you can see ......? ;) https://www.homemadeturbo.com/jim/inside.jpg Inside is real clean, Jim's still sporting that stock shifter and his homemade shift knob, hahahha :P https://www.homemadeturbo.com/jim/riley1.jpg With all the excitement in the driveway, Riley (Jim’s son) had to come check out what was going on, I strapped him in the 5pt Harness, :) https://www.homemadeturbo.com/jim/riley2.jpg How does Dads car sound Riley? "BAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH Bwahhhhhhh" Jim just got new exhaust that sounds real nice, but resonates the ---- out of the car. https://www.homemadeturbo.com/jim/tune1.jpg Since Jim is racing in a week, we had to do the old fashion way of tuning, (on the street) But we were able to use his Wideband O2 setup for data logging. https://www.homemadeturbo.com/jim/tune2.jpg After a few tries, we started to figure out how to adjust the AEM setup, it was a bit tricky, and overwhelming, since it’s so damn configurable. But we finally got the Air/Fuel set at 12.0-12.5 @ WOT. You should see the damn manual for this thing, lol :o Why didn’t we use the AUTOTUNE function? Well Jim didn’t want to upgrade the firmware version of the ECU this close to his race, just incase we had a problem with updating it. Anyways, wish him luck at his first race! I will more than likely be their taking pictures, and crewing for him. Jeff Frank |

Re:Pics of JHill's Road Race CRX (TUNED!)
Thanks guys, and thanks to Jeff for coming down to help tune the ECU. It took a while to get things to the point where we could make changes and see results, but once we got there it was nice and quick.
5 more days for the first race. Jim |

:o
Simply beautiful. I envy your work. Which wideband? Saw on HT, where you can datalog raw knock sensor output w/ the EMS. You try it yet? Wish Hondata did that. Your sons got the future motorhead grinn. :D |

Re:Pics of JHill's Road Race CRX (TUNED!)
i love them kosei rims! too bad they don't make 5-lug versions, i think?
nice roll cage though, my friend and i are going build a CRX ourselves and will need a roll cage = shooting for 11.99s, and the crx setup looks really nice. -mike |
Re:Pics of JHill's Road Race CRX (TUNED!)
its spronsers and light weight rims w/ a yellow STOCK body, whats so ricey? because it doesnt look ass stock with the black body panels and pizza pan looking rims?
So, to have a "nice" car you have to have a turbo in a rusty white CRX? grow up |
