well as the subject says i got owned by an srt4. i was just minding my own business going to get some money from the bank. as i was signaling in and about to turn the fucker comes and cruises past me and revv's on me. so i chase him down. was in third at 60. and u know how it is in a single. fucken slow. and we went at it even at first then he pulls like three cars and stays there. yeah whatever no excuses. but im going for him once i get boosted. i lost to a neon :'(

yeah im just waitin on some lil stuff right now....the bov from renr and my downpipe flange from bmc...hopefully it'll get here by next week......so ill be boostin in about two weeks....im gonna go look for that bastard....haha pisses me off even though it was an srt4...but thats just a boosted neon....hahaha my car is a pos...

dont get me wrong blind but isnt your car boosted?????but like i think if we would have went heads up from a dead stop i think i would have been pretty close to that guy.....cause dont turbo cars pull harder at higher speeds...or you think he just ran out of steam and couldnt pull anymore...cause honestly i thought they were fast....cause i have a pos d16z6 with just an i/h/e a web cam i think haha....a aem cam gear and a chipped ecu....but whatever ---- it....that shits gonna get pwned when i get boosted....ill post pics when im done with my setup....what do those things run in the 1/4 mile anyways?

Obviously I drive a neon(other wise I wouldnt ask). But I guess I dont seem to get why people think neons or srt4's are pieces of crap.

Okay lemme get this straight.

you go by "BoosTedZSix", and you don't have boost? makes sense... I guess.

Even if a boosted honda made as much hp as those SRT4s the honda would still be waaaaay lacking in torque. Sport Compact Car dyno'd a stock SRT4 and it made more torque than hp. like 240 ft/lbs at the wheels or some ---- like that. crazy.

And yeah, Blind is boosted. by a sc. that's why he beat the neon off the line and it took him in top end. I have nothing against neons... aside from the fact that I still look at them as a "girl" car ;D but I like the look of those srt4s. Especially the widemouth front fascia with the frontmount. mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

They are pieces of ----, or at least were. The old Neons used to fall apart as they drove down the street. Look at some of them the quality is just terrible. The paint falls off, they're rusting and break down every five feet. And those commercial STILL piss me off to this day. A car that says "hi" whos the ------- ad wizard that came up with this?

Look at some of the Honda complaints on this board, "my odometer broke at 400,000 miles." Show me a Neon who has this complaint about their car. If Dodge was smart and improved the Neon, they should have got rid of the Neon name so people know that what they have now is a better product with a higher quality of craftsmanship.

Plus I hate 4 door cars with a passion.

There's a big difference between changing the name of a company and the name of a line of cars. If Ford reintroduced the Pinto line would you not judge it by how it was the world's most dangerous car and just buy the new version of it thinking everything's ok?

i would love to have a pinto, i've seen them at the track running low 13s with a stock 2.3 4 cylinder swap out of a turbocoupe. It would make a nice ass-ugly sleeper.

ummmmmmm....... my mother in law has an 03 jag s- type with about 7k miles on it, and it just 'broke down' the other day :-\ she had to call a tow truck to have it towed to the nearest dealer (2 hrs. away). i personally think they suck, and she's a dumb ass for buying a car that you have to drive two hours to get serviced :P

That doesn't mean with boost you will own him. Unless you break a 13 sec run boosted your still going to lose. I've seen a lot of boosted honda's on here not even break into the 14's depending on their engine. So i suppose it depends on what you have now

I think even road and track or someeone dynoed one with 240 hp to the wheels. If you go by your factory flywheel hp its probably close to 300.

Besides they have an lsd from the factory now which you dont. I was able to sit in one at the autorama show, I must say I was impressed. When your inside it feels nothing like a neon.

ill make sure i own that fool.....cause my homeboy with a stock h22 in his hatch beats evo's and im pretty sure the evo is faster than a peon.... and an h22 only puts like 170 hp to the ground if that.....so whats the difference when u have a single boosted that would put close to that if not more on 10 lbs of boost???...and that thing must way a lot..

As far as racing a srt=4 with a stock engine...of course your going to lose. You better have an sti or 350z to be able to beat those fuckers if your car isn't boosted

Neons are crappy, but the srt-4 is fast. Thats pretty much it.

Every dodge / chrysler car I have ever seen past the age of 4 years has paint problems. My girls chrysler roof was bald metal by the time she sold it, they just dont invest in theor paint jobs.

Chrysler has a good history of factory turbocharged cars. Easily upgradage and handle a lot of power look at the old 2.2 turbos. Guss had his van running what high 12's low 13
s with fairly minimal mods.

As for a 350z beating an srt-4 ummm no. I think the 350z's only run mid 14's so even in the slowfire I could keep up with one of those if not win.

Hah! i just beat one the other day and it had a stage 1 upgrade on it. his mods were chipped ecu, bigger injectors, k&n filter, and some other ----. i got a 91 crx si (stock d16a6) T3 turbo @ 9psi. he got me off the launch cuz i just sit there spinning but as soon as i threw it in second i was up on his ass again then popped it into third and damn i just stared pulling right by him!!! ;D ;D GO SINGLE CAM TURBO GO!!!!!! 8) they're fast but i think a good HMT kit would take one out!

Just to let you know the Pinto was only the most dangerous car on the road because it was rushed into production. The guys over at Ford developed a fuel bladder to go inside the tank so when the tank was punctured or something it wouldnt explode. howevwer they thought it wasnt cost effective and left it out. with that bladder in the tank the pinto was one of the safest cars around with all the other saftey feature that were added.

that guy must suck at driving.. you kept up within 3 cars??? so with everything you have, you run ~15.0? those things are suppose to run 14.0 if not i've seen 13.9 stock. i'm guessing he was a shitty driver like the one i saw at rockfalls raceway last summer, he ------- got a blue srt-4 and ran at BEST a 15.2 ::)

For $20Gs ($28Gs Canadian) you cannot buy a faster brand new car.
A better built car? Yes!
A stronger motor? No!
They even have Factory upgrades!
Still a Neon, so not for me!
Now if Honda offered a factory turbo K20/K24 civic... ;D

I agree that 95-96s were pretty crappy. Paint chipping(in certin colors) and the paper headgaskets owned the neon name. I have had my 97 for 2 years and it has been great to me.

I just wanted to see peoples opinions. Lots of people make up their mind with out knowing facts..

Stock 2004 srt's run high 13s. They have better tires, LSD, and injectors and a better ecu.

My friends has a 350z and its actually a pretty nice car. i doubt that the srt-4 would lose to an srt-4. By the numbers the two seem pretty equal. Even if the srt-4 was quciker i doubt it would beat the z by a car length. I pick a z over a neon anyday.

But my other choice was to race the neon with the sti ;)

Im not sure which car your talking about but just becuase the car is boosting 16 pounds doesn't mean it can beat the car. The horsepower numbers are lower than a 350z. And it does not have a 1 year warranty buddy.

i was talking about the neon having that much boost since obviously the 350z isnt boosted...and i just heard it had a 1 year warrenty...yeah and the the 350 is pretty dope...and hp doesnt really matter if your car weighs a grip right....so id say power to weight is what really matters
