If I was openly carrying a gun, I'd always be paranoid about some dumbass thinking "hey, there's a gun, I could rob this ----" and coming up behind me. Like stevemode was saying, I'd rather them NOT KNOW that I had a gun, and find out the hard way.

You're right that most NORMAL people will not attempt to take a gun from someone, but there are always idiots/drug addicts that don't even consider the risks and only consider the possibilities. I don't see a reason to open carry. The ONLY difference is everyone knows you have one that they could possibly ******.

I am not sure about other states, but open carry in CA means unloaded open carry, so no magazine in the gun and no round in the chamber. Which means you gotta slap a mag in and rack the slide before you can do anything. By that time you've probably already gotten shot.

Alabama is pretty lax.

I used to hate moving from Georgia to Alabama due to the Alabama stereotypes. I like huntsville much better than columbus and alabama is much more relaxed with laws and fines.

I really have no reason to carry a weapon at all.

I can't take it out with me when I am drunk, that is a no-no. So that rules out using it at night when out.

If I was a cab driver, delivery driver etc I would have one for sure though.
