only honda at an srt-4 meet....
well i drove up to meet my cousin at a lil meet at hooters today and i had the only honda there.these guys were full of themselves about how everything sucks but the srt-4's.they were making fun of every car that drove through that wasnt a srt.out of 20-25 srt's only 3-5 might have been fast looking at what was under the hood.eveyone else had only bov and intake upgrades and man they just think that bov gives them power cause they all were revin to make it blow.i was like if it wasnt for honda dominating the import scene for years dodge had to build that car to compete so thank honda for the car your driving. :P anyways they were alot of stupid-asses there and only a couple of cool guys.my whole take of the scene was "GAY" so i left not to become infected by there gay egos....

you must have forgot about the 80s. and the dodge 2.2 turbo motors.

That's because they're smart. Realize a trend of 4 bangers, make a car that fits right in.
SRT4 guys are kinda gay, mainly because they think they're true "domestic muscle cars," and yet they hide their true JDMness... haha.

Johnny, you're missing the point on this one. The SRT-4 NEON!!! wasn't made because Dodge really wanted to be know for making sporty compact cars, they did it because the import market was becoming too large to ignore. The only import market that you couldn't ignore as a car manufacturer is what kids were doing with honda's. DSM's also contributed to it, but for the most part, GM, Ford, and Dodge only make these cars today because of the craze that honda created.
It's crazy that it worked too, but the fact is that honda started it, and if you drive a sport compact made by one of the big three manufacturers, you fell into thier marketing, because what you really want is a honda.

dodge made 4 bangers that were fast in the 80s.
hondas are popular because they are cheap, not because of their performance or capability to modify to make fast.
what car did honda make the is a "performance" car. s2000? the integra GSR was the first american honda/acura that was supposed to be "peppy"
