that car with a up'd boost is not going to be that fast. but faster than stock z28 camaros of the day.
it wont beat any LT1 camaro or corvette.

I don't care if SRT-4's are fast. I think they are supa-gay. Ever since an ex-o-mine drove home in a Lilac neon... I couldn't stand the gay factor.
Chrysler 4 bangers sucked *** in the 80's. Yeah, some were quick, but you won't catch me dead in any K-car derived piece of ----. I think some Chrysler owners went through more heads and headgaskets than oil changes. I owned a turbo'd Lancer for a whopping year. And that fuel injection was touchy...
You really have to beef them up to be a contender in a daily driven/racing scenario. Mine was quick, but I would pay for it with breakdowns later.
Honda's are the way to go in my opinion because: They are damn good reliable cars in the first place.... and hard to screw up. NOT because they are cheap. Affordable? Yes...
How many turboed Kia's you heard about? Kia's are cheaper than Hondas, but boosting a KIA would be like asking for it.... I still want to see Kia in racing....
Personally I still like to think the old school import tuning started with VW's. We had a bug that ran 11's NA in the quarter. Full on fiberglass front end and fenders. Lots of my homies ran turbo bugs. Weren't as fast as a Honda though... those engines are strange... and get hot as hell with the air cooled thing going on.

If you want to see some Kia's, go over to "streetkiaz.com" - those are some cool guys . LoL. Jeff is actually turboing a Kia, we we'll so how quick that thing is haha!
Anyway, StealthMode brings up a really good point about the how reason for the SRTt-4's existence. Most of the articles I've read on the SRT-4 is how it's a "contender" in the sport compact industry. Exactly. They saw a market, so they're going after it. Honestly, I wouldn't have a problem driving one if they weren't so damn ugly. What they offer is good though, the option to go faster and do a bunch of ---- and still keep it under warranty. However, local Acura dealers were doing that with their cars long before Dodge was. It's also funny that the original poster mentioned how SRT-4 owners think their ***** just grew two sizes. I noticed the same thing, yet my brother in law, who just got one after being a hardcore muscle guy for so long, has gained a lot of respect for imports it seems.

If there was a sudden surge in muscle car enthusiasts and honda came out with a V8 "muscle car" I'd talk ---- about them too. Honda doesn't make "Muscle Cars", and GM/Ford/Dodge don't make "import cars". Don't think of it as a car, think of it as a culture/sport/arena of hobby and tell me who shouldn't be making IMPORT oops, "SPORT COMPACTS"
I would accept the sport compact name and all the manufacturers coming together if they didn't talk so much ---- before there was money to be made.
