My next is going to be a swiss k31. After that I'll probably start digging into semi-autos.

I am only referring to their uppers. Their lowers and parts kits are good, as is the buttstocks, and most other things. BUT, most AR issues are with the uppers.

They undersize the gas port and they will short stroke with cheaper ammo.

Also, the M4 feed ramps are undersized and not the correct angle.

Stag is not the only manufacturer to have these problems.

yea not too familiar with AR's i just really started getting into guns in the last few months. planning on getting a stag (6.8 if ammo goes down) myself pretty soon. stag is less then a 10 minute drive from my house and the local gun shop i just started using is buddy buddy with the owner so i figure if i have any issues ill have no problems getting it taken care of.

buk i ended up finding a and buying a BNIB wasr 3 on gun broker for 489. ------ other local gun shop i went to had a used one for 790. thanks ill take that 300 savings and buy 1K rounds to blaze up or get an sks with a tapco t6 stock for 7.62 madness. i just hope it doesnt have same feeding issues alot of other people had.

If you are going to get a 6.8, might as well go full on and get something like the DPMS .308. They shoot real nice

Wow, for ------- under a grand, damn man get it asap. DPMS before all this ---- with Obama happened was running like $1300-$1400 if that. If you break it down, it is cheaper if you are planning on shooting like 500rds every few months because the availability of .308 vs 6.8. What are you thinking about using it for?

probably just to take out once in a while and shoot at stuff in the woods and possibly to defend against a zombie take over. not sure if ill ever need a gun that shoots accurate at 400 yards. i dont want 2 .223 guns but i also dont want to pay $1/round. i usually blaze through 200 rounds at a time. kinda up in the air but i do want an AR of some caliber.

200rds at a time will get rape expensive in 6.8mm or 6.5grendel. If you don't want another .223, only reasonably cheap/easy to obtain rifle for an AR would be an AR10 or DPMS .308 or any of the other .308 rifles. That said, I will buy the 6.8 from you if you want...
